Sierra Madre Volunteer Fire Department Wants You!
Sierra Madre Fire Department is the last remaining all volunteer fire department in Los Angeles county. SMFD services the city of Sierra Madre with 4 fire engines and 2 rescue ambulances. The department is comprised of approximately 40 volunteers and has immediate openings for motivated individuals.
Are you interested in learning about the fire service or becoming a firefighter? Sierra Madre Fire offers a complete training program utilizing the best of area resources. Experience gained at SMFD would prove invaluable in starting a career in the fire service or provide an exciting new hobby and outlet to give back to the community. If you are interested in becoming a paramedic, SMFD can sponsor you for paramedic training.
Already been to a fire academy and interested in field experience or gaining hours toward your Firefighter 1? Sierra Madre Fire is a front line fire department responsible for approximately 800 9-1-1 calls per year.
