Publishing Assistant

Red Hen Press, a nonprofit literary organization based in Granada Hills, CA, is seeking qualified candidates to work as PUBLISHING ASSISTANT. We are looking for creative amiable people who can work in a small office environment and can multi-task. Having knowledge of the literary world (authors’ names and work) is a plus. This job will entail invoicing, page layout and design. It will involve learning Adobe Pagemaker, In Design, Access and Quickbooks.



This position involves being the direct assistant to the publisher of an independent press publishing twenty titles a year. Necessary skills: Strong sense of aesthetics, and good grasp of well written English. It is essential to be a fast learner and be capable of working/learning independently.





Please Note: This is a 30 day UNPAID internship at which point this position may become paid and part-time for the qualified candidate.
