Public Affairs Coordinator

Planned Parenthood of Pasadena has an opening for an hourly, part-time Public Affairs Coordinator. Under the direction of the Director of Public Affairs, the Public Affairs Coordinator performs grassroots activities to engage, recruit and mobilize the public around reproductive health care, reproductive rights, and reproductive justice issues. Activities include tabling at local events/campuses, activist recruitment, “get out the vote” and voter registration. Updates activist and supporter database and sends out e-mail alerts to database members.
Planned Parenthood provides comprehensive reproductive health care and sexuality education to women, men and teens. Our mission is to ensure broad public access to family planning and reproductive health care through direct service, education and advocacy.
Qualifications:
Experience in community organizing and activism. Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills. Familiarity with the legislative process. Ability to work independently and in collaboration with all levels of staff, community partners and diverse populations. Attention to detail and proficiency in use of Microsoft applications (Word and Excel) and some database experience required. Associate’s Degree or equivalent required; prefer Bachelor’s Degree. Must be committed to (and enthusiastic about) the mission, goals and policies of Planned Parenthood. Some evenings and weekends required.
