Photography Gallery Seeks Art Handler/Office Assistant

The Stephen Cohen gallery is seeking a Part-time Art Handler/Office Assistant.
Job Duties include:
-Shipping
Applicant will be required to handle and pack photographs for shipment. Items will vary from light/small loose prints to large framed crated works. Applicant should be comfortable handling photographs, and have some experience in packing artwork for shipment.
-Installation
Applicant will be required to help with the installation and de-installation of gallery exhibits; some minimal framing and un-framing may be required. Lighting of exhibition space, usage of ladders, and occasional light painting involved.
-Gallery/Office Maintenance
Applicant will be responsible for maintaining gallery supplies. The position also requires handling gallery errands, including runs to both the post-office and Fedex, renting of transport vans, delivery or pickup of artwork – both crated and loose, shopping for event supplies (water, wine, etc), and other tasks important to the smooth operation of the gallery.
Thorough knowledge of PhotoShop, Illustrator, InDesign/Quark is mandatory.
Applicant should also be familiar with basic computer skills including FTP, MAC server operation, OSX operation, etc.
The position requires 20 to 25 hours a week. Starting pay is $12/hr or higher depending on skill level and experience. Please send a cover letter and detailed resume.
