This bakery is fit for royalty and those with five star tastes. Each macaron has the right convergence of flavors: almonds, eggwhites and a chocolate filling that actually taste chocolate and not too sweet. Try eating this slowly in as many bites as you can master out of a two quarter sized macaron and you feel like you are being transported to somewhere good. And one is enough but you wish you had a dozen more because of its good taste.
I tried this morning their raisin croissant which folks have been raving about, and in fact write about in reviews. What is the fuss I told myself? Well, it is a buttery croissant, filled with small raisins, and just the right amount of natural sweetness from the raisins, you wonder why you had not had it many mornings before. It is so so delicious.
And another delicious favorite of mine is their lemon curd tart, just enough tart and sweetness. But, who would not relish their red velvet muffin with just the right amount of cream cheese frosting? And of course their cheese sourdough bread, made to order is one we bring camping matched with some good ham or pastrami and it is just the right lunch meal outdoors.
Choose your pastry, choose your bread, choose your desserts and each one becomes your personal favorite, and I simply go crazy because it is hard to resist being hypnotized by the fresh fruits layered on tarts or the delicious brownies that look still moistened with real chocolate in its batter or the chocolate chip cookie with just the right amount of nuts and chocolate chips to enjoy when I have that craving. I am blessed to have this bakery in my Miracle Mile neighborhood. Who says the owners are the only ones with dreams to have a French bakery in Los Angeles, I too prayed for one to thrive in my neighborhood ! Love to come to La Maison du Pain in Los Angeles!
